From 6th to 31th of October 2025, a member of our Society, Łukasz Gralewski, completed a research internship at Hochschule Aalen University in Germany. The internship program included learning about the theoretical foundations of modern analytical techniques, such as NMR and MALDI-MS, as well as practical training in the use of equipment, sample preparation, and interpretation of the obtained spectra. The skills acquired were then used during measurements of samples provided as part of a research project carried out at the Silesian University of Technology. In the case of NMR spectroscopy, experiments such as ¹H, ¹³C, DEPT, HSQC, COSY, and TCOSY were performed. In the case of MALDI-MS, the sample preparation process included the preparation of solutions, evaporation of the solvent, and application of appropriate matrices to the measurement plate.
