Sonia Wardejn took part in a summer research internship in Liberec, Czech Republic, where she worked on advanced techniques for reducing perfluorinated compounds and benzene, as well as methods for recovering silver from aqueous solutions through adsorption using various polymers. Participating in the internship was a valuable scientific experience for her, allowing her to develop practical skills and deepen her knowledge of environmental chemistry. Outside of her hours in the laboratory, Sonia had the opportunity to discover the beauty of Liberec and its surroundings, learning about both the local culture and meeting new people from the scientific community.
The summer experiences of our members show that the summer break can be combined with scientific development, acquiring practical skills, and exploring new places. The successes of Dominika, Joanna, and Sonia are proof of the commitment, passion, and creativity of our club members. We congratulate them on their achievements and awards during this period and are proud that they can represent our club at home and abroad. Their experiences inspire us to undertake further research projects and participate in scientific events in the coming academic year.
