Holidays are a time for rest, but for the members of our research society, they were also an opportunity for development and gaining new experiences. In recent months, we have participated in conferences, research projects, and internships that have allowed us to expand our knowledge and skills in many areas.

We are proud to announce that Dominika Kluska is the co-author of an article published in the journal Foods, entitled: “Innovative Multilayer Biodegradable Films of Chitosan and PCL Fibers for Food Packaging” https://doi.org/10.3390/foods14142470 The work concerned the development of multilayer biodegradable films made of chitosan and polycaprolactone (PCL) fibers for food packaging, which is a significant contribution to the development of modern packaging materials with a lower environmental impact.

Joanna Gierlotka represented our Society at the InterTechDoc'25 conference, which took place on September 15–17, 2025, in Zabrze. She took part in the poster session, presenting her work “What is hidden in feeds and meat? – extraction and determination of selected antibiotics” prepared as part of the SKNCh research project “Determination of selected antibiotics in animal feed”. Her poster was recognized by the scientific committee, confirming the high level of research conducted and the commitment of our students to the development of science.

Sonia Wardejn took part in a summer research internship in Liberec, Czech Republic, where she worked on advanced techniques for reducing perfluorinated compounds and benzene, as well as methods for recovering silver from aqueous solutions through adsorption using various polymers. Participating in the internship was a valuable scientific experience for her, allowing her to develop practical skills and deepen her knowledge of environmental chemistry. Outside of her hours in the laboratory, Sonia had the opportunity to discover the beauty of Liberec and its surroundings, learning about both the local culture and meeting new people from the scientific community.

The summer experiences of our members show that the summer break can be combined with scientific development, acquiring practical skills, and exploring new places. The successes of Dominika, Joanna, and Sonia are proof of the commitment, passion, and creativity of our club members. We congratulate them on their achievements and awards during this period and are proud that they can represent our club at home and abroad. Their experiences inspire us to undertake further research projects and participate in scientific events in the coming academic year.
