Silesian Phoenix at the Promotional Events of the Silesian University of Technology – March 2025
In March, as members of the Silesian Phoenix Student Research Group, we actively participated in two key promotional events of the Silesian University of Technology: the Open Days and the Materials Engineering Day. During both events, we showcased our latest achievements, including our flagship project – the Phoenix III rover, giving visitors insight into the intricacies of mobile robotics and modern engineering technologies.
Silesian University of Technology Open Days
The Open Days provided a unique opportunity for prospective students to learn about the educational offerings of the Silesian University of Technology and the activities of student organizations. With great enthusiasm, we shared our experiences, demonstrating how theoretical knowledge can be effectively applied in engineering projects.
During the Phoenix III presentation, we discussed key aspects of its construction, including the technologies used, the design process, and the testing of individual components. For many visitors, this was the first opportunity to see a technologically advanced project developed by students up close. We also engaged in conversations about daily life at the university, development opportunities, and the benefits of actively participating in a research group.
Materials Engineering Day
The Materials Engineering Day, organized by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, focused on modern materials and their processing technologies. In response to the event’s theme, our presentation highlighted the use of composites in the construction of the Phoenix III rover.
Visitors had the chance to learn how carbon fibers enhance the strength and lightweight structure of our robot, as well as how advanced 3D printing technologies enable rapid prototyping and the production of complex mechanical components. Particular interest was drawn to the additively manufactured elements, which could be examined up close in our workshop.
Modern Robotics and Materials Engineering
Participating in these promotional events was not only an opportunity for us to showcase the results of our work but also a chance to establish new connections and inspire future students to actively engage in scientific activities. We are delighted that we could demonstrate how passion and dedication translate into real engineering projects.
We sincerely thank everyone who visited our booth and laboratories! We encourage you to follow our activities and join SKN Silesian Phoenix – together, we can reach even further!
