Silesian Phoenix at 3DExperience World 2025 in Houston, Texas!

3DExperience World is one of the largest events for engineers, designers, and CAD technology enthusiasts, organized by Dassault Systèmes. Every year, it gathers thousands of participants from around the world, offering presentations, workshops, discussion panels, and competitions related to design and engineering. This year's edition took place in Houston, Texas, and was exceptional not only because of its grand scale but also due to the presence of our Silesian Phoenix team!

Silesian Phoenix on stage!

One of the key moments of our participation in the conference was our presentation titled "Silesian Phoenix Student Project - Designing and Building the Most Innovative Mars Rover." We shared our history, presented our previous projects – Phoenix I and Phoenix II – and introduced the future vision behind the construction of Phoenix III. Our presentation received great interest, and attendees eagerly asked questions about both the technology and organizational aspects of our team. It was an amazing experience to share our passion and knowledge with such a wide audience!

Competitions and new challenges

Our visit to 3DExperience World was not limited to just the presentation – we participated in numerous attractions and challenges prepared by the organizers. One of them was Model Mania, where we traveled back in time to 1995 to work with the historic version of SolidWorks! This fascinating experience allowed us to see how much CAD software has evolved over the decades.

A particularly exciting moment was our supervisor's participation in Model Mania Expert, where he outclassed the competition and dominated his opponents in a high-speed 3D modeling challenge. In this contest, precision and speed were key – and our mentor demonstrated his excellence! Additionally, we had the opportunity to visit numerous booths of Dassault Systèmes' partners and customers, where we explored the latest technological advancements used in the industry.

Meetings, inspiration, and the future of CAD

The conference also provided an opportunity for networking and knowledge exchange. We attended numerous presentations and discussion panels, where we met other CAD system users, designers, and engineers from around the world. These conversations not only inspired us to keep pushing forward but also gave us insight into the industry's future direction. We also learned about the upcoming innovations in SolidWorks – and they certainly look promising!

Visit to the Houston Mission Control Center

To conclude our trip, we couldn’t miss a visit to the NASA Mission Control Center in Houston. As a team dedicated to space exploration and technology development, we were thrilled to see this historic place firsthand. We had the chance to experience the atmosphere where crucial decisions regarding space missions were made – from the Apollo program to modern operations on the International Space Station. It was an incredibly inspiring visit that reaffirmed our belief in the importance of our work on Mars rovers for the future of space exploration.

Conclusion

Attending 3DExperience World 2025 was not only a great honor for our team but also an amazing adventure full of inspiring meetings, new challenges, and invaluable experiences. We return home with our minds full of ideas and even greater motivation to further develop the Phoenix III project. We thank the organizers for the opportunity to participate in such a remarkable event – and we hope to share our achievements again next year!
