Silesian Night of Scientists 2024
Saturday, October 12, 2024, was a day full of learning, emotions, and inspiring encounters for us. As part of the Night of Scientists in the European City of Science, we had the pleasure of organizing a special workshop, "DIY Robotics: Building and Programming Robots on Your Own." It was an event that will stay in our memories for a long time.
The "DIY Robotics" workshop turned out to be an excellent opportunity to delve into the secrets of robotics. Participants had the chance to build their own mobile robot from scratch. Every step of the process required precision and dedication—from assembling mechanical components and soldering electronic circuits to programming controllers that brought the robots to life. Each phase of construction was conducted in a hands-on manner, allowing participants to directly experience technology and collaborate in groups. This is a fantastic method for developing technical skills and fostering creativity.
Our workshop was designed for young people aged 16-19 and adults who wanted to begin their adventure with robotics or expand their existing knowledge. We were delighted to see attendees with varying levels of experience—from those taking their first steps into modern technology to those with prior knowledge who wished to deepen their understanding. All participants showed incredible dedication and curiosity, creating an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and creative energy.
For us, it was an immensely rewarding day that demonstrated the growing interest in robotics and the immense value of hands-on education. We are thrilled to have contributed to the popularization of science and encouraged more people to explore the world of technology. We hope that those who took part in the workshop left not only with new knowledge but also with a passion for further developing their skills.
