Meeting of Polonia and Polish Engineers
In recent days, part of our team took part in the VI World Congress of Polish Engineers and the XXVIII Congress of Polish Technicians in Poznań. This event brought together engineers from both Poland and Polonia communities around the world, providing an excellent opportunity to showcase our activities and establish valuable contacts.
VI World Congress of Polish Engineers and XXVIII Congress of Polish Technicians
The conference took place in the modern facilities of Poznań University of Technology and covered a wide range of thematic sessions—from energy and nanotechnology to artificial intelligence and medical techniques. Participants discussed the role of Polonia engineers in the development of industries worldwide, as well as opportunities for collaboration between universities, research institutes, and industry.
Phoenix III Presentation at the SKN Exhibition
As part of the accompanying exhibition of achievements by Student Scientific Associations, we presented the Phoenix III Martian rover. Its distinctive, ergonomic silhouette and selected materials attracted significant interest from visitors. We guided guests through the individual robot modules, explaining advanced structural and technological solutions.
Young Proposals: History and Development of the Phoenix Series
The presentation that attracted the most attention was given jointly by our Association President, Jakub Gurgul, and programmer Wojciech Łoziński. They presented the history of our project—from the first concepts in 2018, through the successive versions Phoenix I and II, to the final form of Phoenix III. They discussed challenges related to material selection, field testing, and electronics integration, highlighting key lessons learned at each stage of development.
Exchange of Experiences and New Inspirations
Beyond the presentations, we had the opportunity to engage in many inspiring discussions with engineers and technicians from Poland and abroad. We exchanged insights on the design of space robots, prospects for research collaboration, and potential funding sources for future initiatives. As a result, we returned to Gliwice full of ideas for the development of subsequent rover iterations.
Summary
Participation in the VI World Congress of Polish Engineers and the XXVIII Congress of Polish Technicians was not only a chance to promote Phoenix III but, above all, a source of valuable contacts and inspiration. We are already planning to implement new solutions in upcoming field tests and to expand our team with more individuals interested in advancing Polish space robotics.
