Dassault Systèmes shows how we build Mars rovers on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform
We are pleased to announce that Dassault Systèmes has published a customer story dedicated to our team's activities. The article showcases how we develop Mars rovers in the 3DEXPERIENCE cloud environment, combining design, simulation, and project management in a single platform.
The article describes our journey from the disparate tools used to build Phoenix I and II to the streamlined design and development process for the Phoenix III rover. We implemented these tools gradually: SOLIDWORKS, the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, CATIA, and ENOVIA. We also demonstrated how simulations in SIMULIA allow us to verify the design before manufacturing a component and how a shared environment facilitates collaboration among mechanical engineers, electronics engineers, and software developers.
We also looked to the future. We described our plans for the Phoenix IV rover, the implementation of model-based systems engineering (MBSE), and the creation of a virtual twin of the rover.
We would like to thank IBS Poland for their support in implementing the platform and the entire team that builds Silesian Phoenix every day!
