Silesian Phoenix – A New Chapter in Our History

Silesian Phoenix is a team of robotics enthusiasts who have been continuously developing their constructions and gaining experience in international competitions since 2018. Until now, we operated as part of the AI-METH Student Scientific Assotiation, but the dynamic growth of our project has led us to take the next step – the establishment of an independent student research group. This is a tremendous success for us, but also new challenges that we are excited to take on!

Board – The Team That Drives Silesian Phoenix

At the top of Silesian Phoenix is Eng. Jakub Gurgul, President of the Board, a second-degree Computer Science student at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, and leader of the programming section, responsible for the development of our robots' software. Dominik Włodarczyk, a Mechanical Engineering student at the Faculty of  Mechanical Engineering, serves as Vice President, managing the mechanical section and overseeing the robot’s structural design. Radosław Kępa, a student of Industrial Mechatronics, completes the board, responsible for the electronics section and control systems.

The scientific supervisor of the group is Dr. Eng. Andrzej Jałowiecki, an assistant professor at the Department of Fundamentals of Machine Design at the Faculty of  Mechanical Engineering. Thanks to the experience and support of the academic staff, as well as the dedication of the entire board, we can successfully develop our projects and achieve new ambitious goals.

Our Mission

Our mission is not only to build mobile robots but, above all, to develop the competencies of our members through hands-on engineering projects. We aim to create a space where ambitious students can acquire knowledge, refine their skills, and collaborate on real technological solutions. We believe that the best learning comes from practice, and each new construction is another challenge to overcome.

Vision

We strive for Silesian Phoenix to become one of the leading academic robotics teams, recognized both in Poland and internationally. We want to participate regularly in prestigious competitions, such as the Canadian International Rover Challenge and the European Rover Challenge, constantly raising the bar and introducing innovative solutions to our projects. We are convinced that the future of technology is being shaped today – and we want to be part of it.

Goal

Our main goal is to design and build state-of-the-art mobile robots that can be used in exploration, research, and industry. We emphasize interdisciplinarity, teamwork, and continuous improvement of our skills. Each new project is an opportunity for us to gain new competencies, as well as to establish collaborations with experts and technology companies.

Join Us – This Is Just the Beginning!

Creating an independent student research group is not only a great achievement for us but, most importantly, an opportunity for further growth – both for our projects and for us as individuals. If you want to be part of this story, join our team, and work on ambitious technological solutions, visit the Recruitment section. If you would like to support our activities and become part of technological innovation, check out the Collaboration page.
