School venue
The School venue is The Silesian University of Technology located in Gliwice, Poland. The school has interdisciplinary program and the classes are planned to be realized by different teachers at different locations.
The main venue for the school is located at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Bolesława Krzywoustego 2 Street, 44-100 Gliwice. Exact rooms for classes and locations will be provided later.
How to get the venue
By plane
Via Katowice Airport (KTW) which is located 40 km from Gliwice and directly connected by highway A1 and local buses M14 (every hour; more info at: https://rj.metropoliaztm.pl/rozklady/1-m14/ ).
Via Krakow Airport (KRK), located 100 km from Gliwice and directly connected by highway A4. Direct buses Flixbus and Leo Express operates to Gliwice. Indirect train and bus connections are also available via Krakow city center (bus/train leaves every 2 hours).
Via Warszawa Airport (WAW) located 300 km from Gliwice, but well connected by direct and indirect trains (with change in Katowice). Travel duration by train is about 4 hours and train leaves every hour (train timetable and tickets at https://portalpasazera.pl/en )
By bus/train
International bus connections are possible by bus operators: Flixbus, Leo Express, Sindbad (partner of Euro Lines). International train connections are available from Katowice station (connected to Gliwice by local trains).
By car
Gliwice city is situated on the cross-road of two longest highways in Poland, A1 from Gdansk to south of Europe (part of international route E75) and A2 from Germany to Ukraine (part of the route E40).
Recommendations for accommodation
The accommodation should be arranged directly by Participants. A variety of hotel accommodation is available in the vicinity of the School venue. In the walking distance there are hotels ranked with 3-4 stars (Diament****, Silvia***, Malinowski Business***, Royal***), and 6 additional hotels of 1-3 stars are in the distance up to 2 km. Most of accommodation places is high-ranked in travel rankings (e.g. Booking.com or Tripadvisor).
Participants should note, that the budget in School Grant is limited (total grant up to 4 000 PLN). In case of expenses exceeding the Grant level participants must cover the difference by own budget.
