Project participants

The School is implemented as part of the non-competition project of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange entitled "Supporting the institutional capacity of Polish universities through creation and implementation of international study programs" (no. POWR.03.03.00-00-PN16/18), implemented under Measure: 3.3 Internationalization of Polish higher education, Operational Program Knowledge Education Development.

The Summer School welcome all PhD students (graduate and undergraduate students can be also accepted) from universities over the world, having a flexibility in the area of scientific interests of the Candidate. The Candidate have to be affiliated to a foreign university having the citizenship other than Polish one. The school is expected for 30 participants, mostly PhD students participating in person.

Recruitment rules

The Organizing Team will accept candidates ensuring the principles of equal opportunities and nondiscrimination within the meaning of the Guidelines for the implementation of the law of equal opportunities and nondiscrimination, including accessibility for people with disabilities and the principle of equal opportunities for women and men as part of EU funds for 2014-2020. Participants of International Interdisciplinary Winter INTRAGEN School are ineligible to participate in summer edition.

In case of “force majeure” the Organizer reserves the right to cancel the Summer School. The cancellation has to be announced before confirmation of the school acceptance.

Data processing rules

According to art. 13 of the GDPR Regulation:

The Controller of your data is Politechnika Śląska (the Silesian University of Technology), located at Akademicka 2A Str., 44-100 Gliwice.

  1. Purposes for data processing and legal grounds

Your personal data are processed in order to register for the participation in the "Interdisciplinary International Summer School for PhD Students on “SMART PUBLIC SPACE IN PROSUMENT ENERGY TRANSITION” with acronym INTRAGEN, to communicate with participants in order to organize the Summer School, to prepare documentation of the course and to send information about scientific events by the Silesian University of Technology in the future.

The legal grounds for the processing of personal data: Article 6 paragraph 1 point e of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) (Official Journal of the EU L 119, p. 1), hereinafter referred to as "GDPR", in connection with the Act of 20 July 2018.

The Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws, item 1668) and the mission pursued by the university, which is conducting scientific activities, shaping civic attitudes, as well as participation in social development and creating an economy based on innovation.

  1. The period of personal data processing

The personal data provided by you in relation to your participation in the Summer School will be kept for a period of 5 years from the completion of training.

  1. The obligation to provide data and the consequences of not providing data

Providing data is voluntary, but necessary to achieve the goals for which they were collected.

  1. Data recipients

If the data controller uses the services of other entities, personal data may be disclosed to them on the basis of contracts entrusting the processing of personal data, and these entities will be obliged to preserve the confidentiality of data being processed.

  1. Rights related to data processing

You have the right to request access to the content of your data and the right to: rectification, deletion, limitation of processing, raising objections.

  1. Information about not making decisions in an automated way

On the basis of your personal data, no decisions will be taken that rely solely on automated processing, including profiling.

  1. The right to file a complaint to the Inspector General for the Protection of Personal Data

You have the right to lodge a complaint to the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection if you decide that the processing of personal data concerning you infringes the GDPR.

Moreover, we would like to inform you that in order to prepare documentation of the INTRAGEN Summer School, the photographs will be taken during the event, which will be published on websites belonging to the Silesian University of Technology.

By sending the on-line registration form INTRAGEN Summer School candidate confirms that all the details above are true and correct, and gives his/her permission for the staff from the Silesian University of Technology to contact him/her regarding the Summer School application. The candidate also confirms that he/she agrees to the Summer School’s Terms and Conditions and the regulation on personal data processing.

The candidate agrees to the processing of his/her personal data in order to receive information related to the organization of the INTRAGEN Summer School.
