This year's Zjazd Wiosenny Sekcji Młodych Polskiego Towarzystwa Chemicznego was held from 3 to 7 May at the European Geological Education Centre of the University of Warsaw in Chęciny.
The congress was attended by 9 students: Agnieszka Kicińska, Natalia Siodłak, Klaudia Nastula, Julia Grzonka, Łukasz Czapura, Jakub Ćwiertnia, Mateusz Zygadło, Michał Nowotarski and Daniel Szymura, and 2 PhD students from the Faculty of Chemistry: Karolina Socha and Grzegorz Stando. Most of them presented the results of their research in the form of posters in two sessions. Daniel Szymura presented an oral report on the studies conducted to obtain coloured oxide layers by the PEO process on magnesium alloys.
In addition, the participants took part in many interesting workshops and lectures, which were led by professors and young scientists. During the conference, students also had the opportunity to talk with Professor Zbigniew Galus about life, science and life in science.
In addition to lectures, the participants integrated on a gala dinner, bonfire and excursions around the area. During the bonfire also appeared Chęcińska's Mermaid 🙂
We can boast of great success, as two participants won awards for the best posters. Natalia Siodłak received the commission award, while Julia Grzonka received the audience award. Congratulations on your win and wish you further success!
