As you well remember, in May and June we went to workshops for secondary schools with ChSRS. We visited a part of Silesia and conducted classes for fantastic young people. The new school year has just begun, and the academic year is about to begin. Also this year we are open to any cooperation and organization of workshops.
Already on 18 September our small delegation consisting of: Wiktoria Tomecka, Piotr Kania and Hubert Knap conducted workshops for students of Secondary High School. Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski in Rybnik. Of course, in addition to precipitation reactions, the students had the opportunity to repeat the graduation material from the Trommer test and the degrees of manganese oxidation. The students quickly became involved in both the lecture and the workshop. They'd come up and ask all kinds of questions. They liked the experience with fluorescence the most, because they have no contact with it every day - describes her observations Wiktoria, a graduate of the Second High School.
The aim of the workshops is to encourage young people to study at our faculty and to show them the many opportunities offered by chemistry studies and the fact that chemistry is an extremely beautiful science, which is not always seen in school textbooks. For me, it was a very nice experience to go back to high school in a slightly different role than it used to be. I think our workshops will help them at least a little to find their way into student life - comments Wiktoria.
