On 5 December, our delegation consisting of Agnieszka Kicińska, Hubert Knap, Eng. Mateusz Zygadło together with PhD Maciej Sowa, due to the invitation as part of the "Explory" event, went to School Complex No. 6 im. King Jan III Sobieski in Jastrzębie-Zdrój to conduct workshops and lectures for local middle school students. What is worth noting, PhD Maciej Sowa is a graduate of this school.
During the lecture, the students got acquainted with the educational offer of the Faculty of Chemistry, were introduced to the world of student life and learned a lot about the research work that is carried out by students in our Kole. After the lecture, workshops were held, where the students could perform the redox reactions that appear on the final exam. In addition, as part of the workshop, there was also a demonstration, which showed, among others, the "Locomotive", the iodine clock, the operation of the Yamada indicator and the well-known test of Tollens and Trommer.
We would like to thank the Management and the Pedagogical Group of the school for the invitation and we would like to thank all the current students for their involvement in the workshops and active discussions about studying or research work. We hope to see you soon 🙂
