A A+ A++

On 19-20 October, the Education and Congress Centre at the Silesian University of Technology hosted the largest information and education campaign in Poland, aimed at students of secondary school graduation classes.

This year, the ‘Salon Maturzystów’ took place in 15 academic cities - including Gliwice.

During the Silesian edition, students had the opportunity to learn about the matriculation offers of many universities, including the Silesian University of Technology.

A delegation from the Student Chemist Research Group, made up of Agnieszka Kicińska and Hubert Knap, represented the Chemistry Department at our university.

Our stand stood out above all the others with its colours and interesting gadgets! Wheel badges, stickers, pencils with the Faculty logo and, of course, our flagship glutes sold out in a flash! We showed the students interesting experiments based on redox, of course, but also nanotubes or titanium implants. We also told them what makes a popular tonic ‘glow’ when we apply a UV torch to it. Patiently and with understanding, we answered every question about recruitment, the Faculty, majors and what to focus on for the baccalaureate. Inspiring young people and answering their questions is an amazing experience. We are glad that we could be part of such a sensational initiative! - says Agnieszka
