On 12 October, the Researchers Night in the European Science City 2024 took place. WE, as ChSRS, are keen to participate in Researchers Nights as every year, but especially during this one we showed that scientists have POWER.
In the laboratories at the Chemistry Department, the little ones were able to see how disappearing ink works and learnt about the power of glowing copper! What a thrill that was! In the web of chemistry, slightly older explorers learned about the powers of polymers by creating alginate beads. The oldest warriors fought a battle of precipitation analysis with a pipette and test tube! The real power was also in Chemiopoly. This is where popular board games became versions created by a chemist! Maybe these games will stay with us and can be played at assemblies? Who knows...
Every visitor could have a colourful braid made - for our two talented chemists, hair length was not an issue! Agata and Agnieszka, chemists by day and artists by night, made every wish come true and painted real little works of art on our faces, decorated with glitter. On the ground floor, Hubert, Filip, Miłosz and Piotr talked about rocks during their chemical chatter.
Everything was supervised by our amazing Mrs Ania!
