After a long break, our ‘From high school student to collage student’ event is back!
On 18 December 2024, the first cyclic workshop ‘From high school student to collage student’ took place on oxidation and reduction reactions, primarily focusing on manganese and chromium reactions. On this day, we had the honour of hosting students from the Academic High School of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice.
The students, under the watchful eye of: Agnieszka Kicińska, Natalia Siodłak, Mateusz Pilszek, Maciej Gdala and PhD Anna Byczek-Wyrostek, they learnt about all the colours of the oxidation degrees of manganese or chromium in spectacular reactions. Also as part of the activity, the students had the opportunity to see the flame test, where the colours of the torch shimmered like lights on a Christmas tree. There was, of course, an opportunity to talk and answer questions about studying 😉
