Did you know that as a student you can be the author of a scientific publication? inż. Dorota Mańka is a great example of this!
Dorota began to write her publication at the end of her engineering studies when her supervisor was Dr. inż. Agnieszka Siewniak. „Thank you very much PhD Agnieszce Siewniak for the proposal to write this review together, for all the valuable advice and comments, patience, clarifying the doubts that arise during the writing process and for the extremely nice and fruitful cooperation. ” - Acknowledgements from Dorota
The topic of Dorota’s review was the use of deep eutectic solvents (DES) as catalysts in the synthesis of cyclic carbonates from CO2 and epoxides. It is a work that touches on a very important topic, which is the modification of processes to be more environmentally friendly. An interesting and fresh topic of the use of DESs as catalysts, which are potentially effective, and certainly cheap and biodegradable catalysts in the synthesis of cyclic carbonates, was also discussed.
Let’s remember that writing a scientific thesis, an engineering thesis and a science defense thesis at the same time is a real organizational endeavor, and Dorota is the perfect example that anything is possible.
“Writing an engineering project and a publication at practically the same time was quite a challenge and required a lot of work. It was not easy, although the writing itself, literature search and laboratory work were interesting for me, and finally seeing a scientific publication in an international journal with my own name on it gave me great joy and satisfaction 🙂" - this is how Dorota describes her feelings.
We congratulate you on your success and wish you more great scientific works!
