A A+ A++

June 21'st was one of the most important days for students at our Faculty. . . During the session, students had the opportunity to present their research related to the master’s thesis. During the event, many companies and establishments had their stands, to which every student could approach and talk about their potential workplace. In addition, representatives of the film took an active part in the session, watched posters with interest and awarded individual awards for them.

During the session, two best posters were selected by observers:

In the field of chemistry the award was given to Eng. Julia Szreder
In the field of chemical technology the award was given to Eng. Paul Stando.

In addition, representatives of the film took an active part in the session, watched posters with interest and awarded individual awards for them. One of these awards from CEMIS-TECH was given to Eng. Michał Nowotarski. Julia and Paweł received special awards from Nitroerg for their posters.

Congratulations to the winners and good luck to everyone!

Below we have a short interview with graduates about their feelings about studying at our faculty

A: How do you remember your first day at university?

Daniel: I was a little stressed, but the atmosphere of everyone around me, students and lecturers, was very positive. New city, new impressions. It is no longer a high school or technical school, but this pleasant atmosphere allowed us to quickly adapt to a new place.
Magda: Okay? Hm. . All in all, it was a long time ago😛 I remember the long queue to the Dean’s Office and quite a nice integration at the beginning of the year.
Julia: Oh mother, haha. How do we remember? Hmmm. . . very positive, actually. You met a lot of friends for sure (to Samuel)
Samuel: We were lost, no one knew where to go. But otherwise positively

A: What will you remember best after your studies?

Daniel: I think it was that atmosphere and contact with academic teachers who treated the student like a human being, not a student who knows nothing. You could always ask any question and get an answer.
Magda: My group and labs are the best, especially the integration during labs.
Julia: Flooding the room with physical 😛 during Bernoulli’s flow study. I'm sure I'll remember that for a long time.
Samuel: Actually, I flooded the studios once too 😛

[Of course we do not recommend flooding any room 😀]

A: And what did your studies at the Faculty of Chemistry at the Silesian University of Technology give you?

Daniel: First of all a diploma, which I hope to defend 😛 But also a lot of experience, a lot of opportunities for improvement, AutoCad and ChemCad courses. Also all kinds of trips, where you could see how it all looks from this large tonnage side. So knowledge and experience!
Magda: Of course a diploma 😀 But it’s hard to define. There's been a lot of changes. Over time, it learned how to search for information, learned new chemical methods. This is a good preparation for future work. Studies also teach not to worry about the fact that if something goes wrong, it can always be repeated and it is not the end of the world.
Julia: They taught how to work in a group, organization (because you had to combine it with work), they gave great acquaintances for years and the ability to combine 😉

A: Is there stress against defense?

Daniel: No, I don’t stress about defense in general. I think I'm prepared enough, but you know, there's always a little stress in the back of my head, but it's manageable.
Magda: And who wouldn’t be stressed. But the stressor is, always is.
Julia: Very much.
Samuel: A little bit

A: What advice do you have for future students?

Daniel: Take advantage of the opportunities of all courses and trips because it is really worth it.
Magda: Take advantage of what is available, do not be afraid and remember “without spin there are other terms”. Also, don't take everything so seriously. If something goes wrong, it's not the end of the world!
Julia: Less stress because everything will always work out anyway, and everyone can get along with.
Samuel: Yes! Less stress!
