On 16-17 November they took place for the 27th time. Gliwice Scientific Meetings. It is an event organized by the National Institute of Oncology im. Maria Skłodowska-Curie and Silesian University of Technology, focusing on different aspects of cancer research, molecular and cell biology, medicine, biotechnology and bioinformatics. The conference was opened by a lecture by Professor Victor Ambros from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, dedicated to the research of St. P. Mieczysław Chorąży.
During the two days, a series of extremely interesting and inspiring workshops took place, organized within the following sessions:
- Helical structures, molecular crowding and nuclear processes
- Role of the helix in RNA
- Cancer Proteomics and Metabolomics
- Artificial Intelligence in computational approaches to molecular biology and medicine
Of particular interest was the lecture by Dr Laura Cole from Sheffield Hallam University, who presented the application of mass spectrometry imaging in the study of eye diseases.
In addition to fascinating presentations, a poster session was held, during which students and PhD students had the opportunity to present their research in various fields of biochemistry, biotechnology and cancer sciences. During the coffee breaks, participants had the opportunity to discuss with scientists and representatives of companies.
This unique event was a unique opportunity to meet scientists from all over the world and exchange experiences.
