On 25 October was held the defence of the thesis of our society superviosr - MSc Eng Anna Byczek-Wyrostek. The topic of her doctoral dissertation was “Synthesis and assessment of biological activity of selected derivatives of dichloromucic acid under in vitro conditions against model cancer cell lines”. The promoter of the work was prof. PhD Eng Krzysztof Walczak.
For the defense of the doctoral thesis there were a lot of guests, including professors, doctors, employees and we - students of the Faculty of Chemistry.
During the presentation, Ms. MSc presented the results of her long-term research, which may contribute to the discovery and development of cancer treatment research in the near future. During the experimental part - as the reviewers themselves admitted - Ms. Anna used very mature analytical and chemical techniques, thanks to which it was possible to see very clear results and conclusions. Therefore, the reviewers also present at the defense agreed that Ms. MSc is a very talented scientist who deserves to have a doctorate.
After the presentation, the Board composed mainly of professors of our Faculty decided to award Ms. Annie Byczek-Wyrostek is a doctor of engineering.
