No, it was only doctoral students and employees of the Electrochemistry Group and their accompanying students who took part in the Workshop titled. “12th International Workshop on Surface Engineering in Komarno”, which took place on 28-30 June 2023 in the charming Hungarian-Slovak town of Komarno. The Faculty of Chemistry was represented by: PhD students Electrochemistry Group: MSc Eng. Marta Wala and MSc Eng. Magdalena Marny, staff: MSc Eng. Aleksander Olesiński and MSc Eng. Weronica Maciak. The student side was represented by: Eng. Daniel Szymura and Hubert Knap.
The main theme of the presentation of our representatives was the PEO process and the possibilities it opens in the processes of surface modification of various metals – from magnesium and aluminum to titanium zinc. However, not only the PEO process was the focus of attention, but what modifications can be made to the surfaces obtained by the PEO process itself. In addition to the substantive part of the Workshop, we also had the opportunity to meet students from different parts of Poland and their supervisors.
“As the first conference of my student career, it was a great experience. Meeting so many people who deal with the same subject, establishing inter-university contacts and deepening integration within our group was also a great experience. If anyone will have the opportunity to go to the Workshop organized by CEEPUS - I heartily recommend it!” - comments one of our members of the Society - Hubert Knap.
