On June 6 our delegation consisting of: Agnieszka Kicińska, Natalia Siodłak and Hubert Knap flew to the 10th High School. Ignacy Jan Paderewski in Katowice.
We had the opportunity to talk to the second and third graders, who are on the biol-chem extension. We talked about our department, the directions and the activities of the Society. Our listeners were very interested in carrying out their own research work on behalf of the Society from different subfields of chemistry - how good that each member of this delegation carries out their work, so they could share their experience 🙂
In addition to the lecture, the high school students had colorful workshops. The students had the opportunity to make characteristic precipitation reactions, which very often are accompanied by a change of color. In addition, high school students really liked the green flame as part of the secretion of volatile triethyl borate 🙂
