On 4 October, the inauguration of the 2024/25 academic year took place at our faculty. The ceremony was graced by the presence of many guests: Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs Prof. Anna Chrobok, who presented our new Dean Prof. Wojciech Simka with a letter from the Rector Prof. Marek Pawełczyk. We also hosted the Head of the College of Studies, Prof. Beata Orlińska, as well as representatives of industry: Mr Kamil Muniak (FLUOR S.A.) and Dr Bożena Szapska - secretary of the Gliwice Branch of PTChem.
The highlight of the inauguration was, of course, the matriculation of first-year students. After the oath-taking, the most important part of the inauguration for us ChSRS members took place - the distribution of the Dean's awards for involvement in the life and promotion of the Faculty of Chemistry.
Dear ChSRS members - congratulations to us all! The third, second and first degree awards show that we are an important part of the Faculty of Chemistry. However, let us not settle on our laurels! Let these awards be just an extra motivation to keep going. We wouldn't have achieved all this if it wasn't for our wonderful mentors: PhD Anna Byczek-Wyrostek and Maciej Sowa - THANK YOU - ChSRS Board of Directors
At the end of the official part of the ceremony, we listened to an extremely interesting inaugural lecture by the dean entitled: ‘The place of the chemist in implant production’. After the official part, it was time for the training of students by the Vice-Dean Prof. Monika Krasowska and a few words from the self-government. From us, first-year students were able to find out what can be done within the ChSRS.
Once again, congratulations to all the students on their awards, and good luck to the first-year students!
