A A+ A++

The European Young Engineers Conference has just ended, and we're excited to share a fresh update with you! And we truly have something to be proud of!

EYEC, held at the Warsaw University of Technology, is an event dedicated to Bachelor’s and Master’s students, as well as PhD candidates. The aim of the conference is to create a space for young scientists to exchange ideas and experiences, to allow them to present their research and receive valuable feedback at an early stage of their academic work, and to foster integration by building an interdisciplinary environment.

The conference covers a wide range of engineering fields – from chemical and biomedical engineering to environmental protection, materials engineering, and many others. The entire event is conducted in English.

This year’s edition took place from April 7th to 9th. The Faculty of Chemistry was represented by MSc Eng. Paweł Grzybek and our student research group member, Eng. Sonia Wardejn. Both participants gave oral presentations.

Sonia’s presentation was titled “Improving Antimicrobial Properties of Biopolymer-Based Films in Food Packaging: Key Factors and Their Impact,” while Paweł’s talk was “Advanced Magnetic Membranes as the Key for CO₂ Recovery from CO₂/N₂ Mixtures.”

You can find more details on their topics in the official conference proceedings available here: https://www.eyec.ichip.pw.edu.pl/?page_id=74

And of course, where there are members of SCRC – there are also awards! Sonia received the Award for the Best Student Plenary Presentation!

MSc Eng. Paweł Grzybek also received a prestigious distinction – the 1st Place Award for Plenary Presentation! He was also a member of our student group before starting his PhD.

Congratulations to both, and we’re proud to have such talented representatives in our research section!
