Project title: New International Horizons for Doctoral School.

The NIH4DS project is in line with the NAWA STER - Internationalization of Doctoral Schools program and aims to increase the internationalization of educational offerings and research projects of the Joint Doctoral School (WSD).

The main activities to be implemented in the project include:

  • Scholarships for the best Polish and foreign doctoral students pursuing doctorates in international cooperation based on a co-tutelle agreement
  • Mobility grants to support academic, scientific and research stays and training stays in scientific and research centers abroad of doctoral students pursuing doctorates in international cooperation based on a co-tutelle agreement co-tutelle
  • Intensive courses taught by foreign researchers
  • International Doctoral Weeks, aimed at integrating the international doctoral community through joint educational and research activities
  • Interdoc Multicultural Days - multicultural days promoting cultural exchange and intercultural cooperation among doctoral students
  • Participation of non-mobile doctoral students in international conferences (virtual participation)
  • Strengthening WSD partnerships with foreign doctoral schools
  • Improving the professional competence of WSD staff
  • Creation of a database of topics for joint doctoral theses internationally
  • Participation of WSD representatives in foreign missions and educational fairs
  • Development and sharing of information and promotional materials with the offer of education at WSD
  • Monitoring the progress and academic achievements of doctoral students participating in the in the project
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of the NIH4DS project

The project will specifically focus on the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 4, “Good quality education,” by providing inclusive and qualitative education at the doctoral level and promoting equal opportunities for all participants. The Joint Doctoral School strives to create lifelong learning opportunities, supporting doctoral students in developing their research and scientific skills. At the same time, in pursuit of the 12th Sustainable Development Goal, the project will promote responsible consumption and production patterns as part of its ongoing activities, particularly those focusing on strengthening cooperation with the EURECA-PRO (The European University on Responsible Consumption and Production) project consortium, of which the Silesian University of Technology is a member.
