Title: Creation of the Silesian EURAXESS Network supporting the career development and mobility of researchers, with the aim of increasing the international competitiveness of Polish higher education and research institutions.

The main objective of this project is to create a competent and integrated SILESIAN EURAXESS NETWORK in the Silesian Voivodeship, focused on developing long-term cooperation and bringing together a broad range of higher education and research institutions. The sustainability of this cooperation is guaranteed by its strong roots in previously implemented and successful initiatives, such as Katowice – City of Science.

The regional network will consist of two types of entities:

1. the Applicant and Partners – beneficiaries of the SILESIA EURAXESS Project, employing the Project Participants;
2. other entities, organizations, and institutions that support the network and benefit from its activities, but are not direct beneficiaries of the programme.

SILESIA EURAXESS will provide services and carry out activities dedicated to doctoral candidates, researchers, and their families coming to Silesia, operating in cooperation with public administration bodies such as the Voivodeship Office. Thanks to the SILESIA EURAXESS partnership, it will be possible to enhance the competencies of staff at individual partner institutions and improve the quality of services offered to incoming researchers and doctoral candidates, facilitate the exchange of knowledge and good practices, identify current barriers and challenges affecting career development and international mobility of foreign researchers, and develop practical institutional-level solutions.

An effectively cooperating SILESIA EURAXESS network, characterized by an expert approach and a researcher-friendly environment, will become a strong attraction factor for foreign researchers while simultaneously increasing the attractiveness of employment in Silesia. It will contribute to attracting a greater number of outstanding international researchers to the region and, consequently, to fostering innovation and enhancing the region’s competitiveness at both national and international levels.

Through the implementation of the SILESIA EURAXESS project, the following specific objectives will be achieved:

1. Establishing, developing, and ensuring long-term cooperation and further development of the SILESIA EURAXESS partnership to support doctoral candidates and researchers coming to Silesia and the development of their careers.
2. Increasing the participation of Silesian higher education and research institutions in the European EURAXESS network through SILESIA EURAXESS promotional activities.
3. Developing a SILESIA EURAXESS development strategy based on an analysis of regional needs, strengthening cooperation in supporting the international mobility of researchers and their careers in Silesia.
4. Enhancing the competencies of staff working with foreign nationals in institutions associated with SILESIA EURAXESS through the exchange of good practices, training activities, and joint events.
5. Promoting SILESIA EURAXESS at the regional, national, and international levels in order to increase the visibility of its member higher education and research institutions through joint promotional and internationalisation-oriented activities.
