The "ICHPW Diamond" award
On 21 December this year, in the headquarters of the Institute for Chemical Processing of Coal, a ceremonial meeting of the ICHPW Scientific Council took place, during which the Chapter of the "ICPW Diamond" award named after Professor Henryk Zieliński granted This is the most important distinction of the Institute.
This year the "ICHPW Diamond" was awarded to the Vice-Chancellor for Socio-Economic Relations, Prof. Janusz Kotowicz. Professor Kotowicz has been a member of the Institute's Scientific Council for many years, and since 2019 he has been the Chairman of this Council. The award to the Vice-Chancellor is in recognition of his outstanding contribution to supporting the scientific activities of the IChPW, his personal involvement in the long-term cooperation with the Institute in scientific and research projects carried out jointly with the Silesian University of Technology.
The Prof. Henryk Zieliński 'IPCW Diamond' award has been granted since 2012 for outstanding contribution to the Institute of Chemical Processing of Coal. The award winners so far include, among others: Prof. Jerzy Buzek, Grzegorz Tobiszowski, Małgorzata Mańka-Szulik, Prof. Aleksander Karcz, Prof. Krystian Probierz and Dr. Marek Ściążko, Professor at the Institute.
Presenting the statuette, Aleksander Sobolewski, Director of the IPC PwC, thanked Prof. Kotowicz for his work during his term as Chairman of the IPC PwC Scientific Council, which had undoubtedly contributed to the Institute's successes and the strengthening of its position in the world of science and industry.
