Success of graduates of the Silesian University of Technology!
Four diploma theses defended at the Silesian University of Technology were highly appreciated in the 20th edition of the National Competition for the Diploma and Award of the SIMP President.
The competition for the Diploma and the Award of the President of the Association of Polish Engineers and Technicians aims to award the best diploma theses with a mechanical profile. It is aimed at graduates of technical universities, and its goal is to promote exceptionally gifted graduates who undertake ambitious activities.
Four graduates from the Silesian University of Technology entered the final of the 20th edition of the competition, where participants submitted their diploma theses defended in the 2019/2020 academic year.
The 3rd-degree award went to Bartosz Jóźwik for the work entitled "Influence of manufacturing parameters using SLM technology on the structure and properties of the CiNi3Si1 alloy" prepared under the supervision of Professor Santina Topolska. The distinction was awarded to Paweł Żur for the work "The use of 3D scanning technology to modify structural elements in an electric car". The thesis supervisor was Professor Tomasz Dzitkowski.
Małgorzata Borowy also qualified for the second finals with her work: "Design and simulation of a testing stand for latches mounted on aircraft components" under the supervision of Professor Wojciech Moczulski, as well as Alicja Kołodziej, who submitted a work entitled "FEM analysis of connections of wooden structure elements" carried out under the supervision of Professor Piotr Fedeliński. In December 2020, qualifications for the next edition of the competition took place.
Persons qualified for the 2nd stage will be able to submit them by 15 November 2021.
