The Music Week
The thirtieth of all 50 Weeks in the City of Science is the Music Week. The event takes place as part of the European City of Science Katowice 2024 celebrations.
If we agree with John Cage that "everything is music" and acknowledge the evidence confirming how great an impact it can have on our lives, then the multidimensionality of the Music Week program as part of the European City of Science celebrations will be obvious - we read in the organizers' announcement.
Ahead of us are concerts, fun on the musical playground and inspiring workshops. Registration is required for some events.
The motto and leitmotif of the Music Week will be "engagement", because changing the way of experiencing music from passive to active will be the main goal of the planned events. The events will involve involvement in creating music, discovering its new, surprising forms, and even playing with music, which can turn into important learning.
During Music Week, participants will look into the past, present and future. A week ahead will tell us about interesting phenomena from the history of music in Katowice and Silesia, music as a tool to better understand and get to know the city, and music that influences our future.
