Crystal Week in the European City of Science!
Another of the 50 Science Weeks as part of the European City of Science Katowice 2024 is ahead of us. During Crystal Week, we invite you to discover how fascinating the world of crystals is and what their unique properties are.
Crystal Week will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about the use of this precious material. Due to their diversity and uniqueness, crystals are used both in many aspects of everyday life and in advanced technologies.
- Not everyone realizes that every day we are surrounded by a lot of substances, materials and objects that have a crystal structure. The diamonds known to everyone are crystals of pure carbon, but crystals also include salt or sugar, - explain the event organizers and invite you to participate in the planned activities.
Crystallography, electronics, optoelectronics, jewellery, chemistry, biology, pharmacy and medicine are a few fields in which crystals play an important role and this is what the events in the coming week will be devoted to.
