Popularization, education, brain, and memory creation – online meeting with prof. Wojciech Glac
Without proper emotional and motivational stimulation, it is difficult to learn effectively. So, what can we do to keep the information in mind for longer? This question can be answered during the meeting of the Science Populariser Toolbox with the participation of prof Wojciech Glac. The EVENT will be held on Tuesday, March 13th at 18:00.
The exploration drive pushes the brain to explore the world, but it does not guarantee that the knowledge gained about it will be stored in memory. Learning requires appropriate emotional and motivational stimulation that reflects the importance of everything the brain touches. Only what is essential attracts attention, and only what is included in the attention has a chance to be fixed in the brain memory. The recipe for effective education or popularization of scientific knowledge is to ensure that all necessary neuronal processes start at the right time and remain active for a sufficient time.
Participants of the online meeting “popularization, education, brain and memory creation, that is, about the neurobiological correlates of effective education” will learn how to effectively educate and popularize science, as well as adjust the message to the age of the recipient, the formula of the meeting and their own nature.
The meeting will be held on March 13th at 18:00 p.m. by prof. Wojciech Glac – Director of the UG Science Popularization Centre, neuroscientist from the University of Gdańsk, whose great passion is to popularize knowledge about the brain.
